This is a role supporting the founders of Slingshot, a Series A startup based in NYC + London focused on building a foundation model for psychology. The goal of this job is to help the founders ensure the company is operating like a machine, and wearing different hats in the absence of specific functional leaders. This will be 40% special projects, 30% executive operations, and 30% focused on partnerships.
You will be:
Helping make sure the trains run on time. Show up at 8:15am every day to prep for the day ahead and ensuring that anything that needs to be done each day gets escalated
Helping with recruiting as a representative of the company; sourcing candidates, taking first calls as necessary, selling the company mission and vision
Helping us implement things like OKRs/best-in-class project management as necessary
Helping with strategic projects (eg. any time we need new offices, fundraising, legals, launch and GTM planning)
Planning our offsites and team collaboration cadences in conjunction with our founder's associate - past offsites have been in Lisbon, Barcelona, and Nashville
Strategic communication, both internal and external, including board materials and investor updates
Work with our investor network to tap into the resources available to us
Your job is to:
Be a force multiplier, but without creating politics. You break down silos, not create them.
Travel between NYC and London often to ensure our teams are aligned.
Create organization out of a sense of chaos. You escalate areas we haven’t paid enough attention to, jumping in personally when needed.
Build zero-to-one functions in the company that don’t currently exist (e.g. taking over growth marketing, partnerships).
Optimize founders' schedules and time management, in conjunction with our founder's associate.
Requirements:
5-7 years of work experience, ideally including time at a Series A or B company
Based in NYC
Excellent communicator, especially in writing
Why you should take this job:
You want direct exposure and mentoring from a founding team with a successful exit and track record (Neil scaled Casper through IPO)
You want the ability to take on tasks you haven’t done before with a lot of responsibility (and trust, when earned)
You want exposure to investors and partners and be recognized as a leader in the AI industry
You care about our mission and are willing to do almost anything to help make it happen
Why you shouldn’t take this job:
Hours are going to be intense
Requires travel + occasional weekend prep work
You need to be told what to do on a daily basis
If you are disorganized
