Data Scientist - Growth

As an early member of Slope’s team, you help drive business insights for Slope’s growing customer base and diverse profile. You will support analytics to gain insights on how we can improve our product and better serve our customers. This role requires strong data analytics skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

What you'll do

  • You will collect and mine business data, conducting analyses to generate insights that guide business planning and decision making for the leaders of the organization

  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches

  • Generate target lists for sales team based on both publicly available data on the web, paid data sources and proprietary data

  • Translate business questions into actionable data-driven insights, clearly communicating technical concepts and business implications to varied audiences

  • Develop scalable analytics processes that can provide timely support of decisions and opportunities across the company 

  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports of key business metrics

  • Maintain documentations of internal datasets; work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to improve data quality 

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in data analytics or data science

  • Bachelor’s in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related fields

  • Strong skill set with Python (pandas, numpy, requests, etc), SQL (Postgres and Snowflake), Excel and data visualization (Matplotlib, Plotly etc); experience with building statistical models is a plus; web scrapping and hacker mindset is a plus

  • Experience with consumer / small business lending and B2B payments is a strong plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a relentless drive; enjoy a fast-paced and results-driven culture

  • Excel and enjoy a collaborative and in-person workplace

  • Comfortable with handling ambiguity and creating processes from scratch. We are growing fast and still learning

  • A demonstrated ability to get stuff done. In an ideal world, you’ve worked in a fast-growing company and know what we should be doing today, in one year, and in two years

  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
