This position is highly skilled and experienced in designing solutions from the ground up to address specific business problems, making high-level decisions about each stage of the process and taking a lead to create the final product and generate solutions. This position is responsible for designing Smile Digital Health implementations for our customers, contributing to Smile Digital Health’s growing system of solutions, communicating with clients to determine their requirements, creating comprehensive solution plans, and collaborating with internal teams, including participation in Smile’s internal architecture review process.


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to determine software and system requirements.
  • Creating high-level IT architecture specifications and design documents.
  • Providing external customers and internal development teams with architectural blueprints to follow.
  • Guiding and assisting staff internally and externally.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with design.
  • Ensuring that you and the team adhere to development schedules and deadlines.
  • Presenting regular progress reports and setting goals.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in Netsuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized.  
  • Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability.
  • Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies


Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years experience within the technology field, with demonstrated proficiency as a thought leader.
  • Experience with electronic information exchange, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Solid understanding of a variety of standards, programming tools and development platforms  such as microservices architecture, and scalable enterprise-caliber solutions (HL7 FHIR experience is preferred but not required).
  • Previous experience working within a health care setting is preferred. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate strong partnerships with clients, technical teams and internal business partners from all disciplines with all levels of experience.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities. 
  • Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
  • Formal IT architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF) are beneficial but not required.
