A thriving community-based organization, has a dynamic new practice opportunity available for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at our outpatient clinic located in Manhattan. This organization has been serving the community for over 30 years and providing medical and behavioral healthcare to a diverse patient population. You would be working with adults mostly ages 45-70 years old. The patient population is a high percentage of Homeless, LGBTQ, and HIV. You would be treating patients suffering from a wide variety of ailments including Schizophrenia, co-occurring substance abuse disorders, bipolar, anxiety, depression, and Alzheimer’s. Our focus is to provide quality care to all of our patients and to make sure they receive the help they need. On an average day, you would see anywhere from 12-14 patients. You would be given an hour for a psychiatric evaluation and 30 minutes for medication management. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you would join our Chief Psychiatrist and another Psychiatric NP to see patients at our clinic. You would also work alongside a coordinator, other social workers, and a director at the site to ensure all patients are given the treatment they need. Our organization has over 350 employees in total and 28 are involved in behavioral health. Where we are located is very close to the train station so it is an accessible route from many different Burroughs. The hours for the position would typically be from 9 am – 5:30 pm however we can accommodate a more flexible schedule if desired. There is no weekend or on call included. You would be training alongside the Chief Psychiatrist for a 3-4-week period and our other Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Responsibilities:
Giving psychiatric evaluations and medication management
Prescribing necessary medication if and when needed
Documenting all notes in ECW EMR system
Working alongside behavioral health providers and collaborating with Psychiatrist
Giving treatment analysis and making medication changes accordingly
Participating in team meetings
Reviewing medical history and conducting therapy session
Focusing on delivering accurate and detailed care to all patients
Requirements:
Graduate of accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program
Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Active New York State NP License
Active DEA License
Preferred 1 year PMHNP experience
Must be detail oriented
Ability to work accurately, not quickly
