Software Engineer (Fully Remote)

SignalWire is currently seeking a Software Engineer for an opportunity with our rapidly growing telecommunication solutions products. This role will focus on developing and scaling our Real-Time Communications platform for call, WebRTC, video, message, and chat APIs. Position Responsibilities

• Develop Node.js services and APIs for SignalWire’s real-time communications platform
• Collaborate with peers to provide code review and receive feedback on your own
• Assist in building or debugging services developed in other technologies (Ruby, C#, C)
• Create iteratively and take ownership through the product design lifecycle
• Work in a collaborative fully remote environment to meet required schedules and timelines
• Identify approaches and solutions to improve software delivery efficiency

Requirements

• 3+ years hands on professional Node.js development experience
• 1+ years direct TypeScript development experience
• Experience with rapid-scaling systems and large distributed systems
• Exposure to Docker, Github, and CI/CD-based workflows
• Experience with SQL and relational database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL) including migrations, profiling, and optimization.
• Experience with caching using Redis
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, Redis Pub/Sub, or NATS
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, JSON, REST, WebSockets)
• Self-motivated and willingness to learn in a globally distributed environment

Bonus Points:

• C, C#, and/or Ruby on Rails experience a plus
• Experience developing for VoIP or WebRTC a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

As a fully remote company all employees must have the ability to work on a computer for most of their workday including engaging in video conferencing.

Travel: Occasional travel requested.
