The Role

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in the quality automation team at Flock, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and functionality of our Android-based hardware devices. You will work closely with our development and QA teams to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites that run on Android hardware devices. Your work will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software to our customers.

How you'll make an impact:

• Collaborate with the development teams to ensure automation testing is a proper quality gate for our products.This will entail making sure any automation requirements are highlighted early in the development cycle.
• Participate in release meetings to understand what areas of the product are being modified so that new tests can be developed.
• Execute automated test plans on a scheduled release cycle. Report results to upper management.
• Develop automated tests to test Android hardware, OS and application functionality, stability, performance.
• Root cause analyzes any product defects found and reports them using our defect management solution, Jira.
• Invent new ways of testing our product in a high paced environment.

We're looking for people with:

• Bachelors of Science. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years experience
• Hardware device testing experience.
• Android OS and application testing experience.
• Ability to develop automated tests in python
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines to automate test deployment
• Familiarity with source control solutions such as git.
• Are comfortable working cross-functionally across multiple projects
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
• Have humility, curiosity, and a passion for sharing knowledge.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable:

• Automating tests on Android based hardware devices.
• Working with various development teams to understand technical architecture.
• Mentoring more junior members of the team

💰Salary & Equity: In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $130,000-$150,000 as well as stock options
