Accounting ManagerFinance and AdministrationController’s OfficeFull TimeJob Description: The Accounting Manager is a mid-level management position that reports to the Controller, leading and supervising the daily activities of the Accounting team. This includes prioritizing and assigning tasks and securing necessary workpapers and supporting documentation as requested by both internal and external stakeholders relating to the University and Foundation.Primary Responsibilities:• Supervise the routine accounting operations of the Accounting team• Lead the activities relating to the University, Foundation, Systems Facilities, Single Audit, NCAA and KRCU audits each year working under the supervision of the Controller• Problem solve and develop solutions to create effective and reliable improvements to processes and/or controls• Interface successfully and communicate clearly and concisely with diverse populations of internal and external constituents at all levels of the institution• Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of all required state and federal tax documents• Ensure financial compliance with internal policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations• Conduct scenario analyses to assess potential financial impacts of strategic initiatives• Maintain an accurate database for effective financial tracking• Bachelor's degree in business; CPA certification and/or MBA degree is a plus• Five years accounting or audit experience; higher education experience is a plus• Experience managing complex accounting issues and applying GAAP, GASB, FASB and other regulations• Extensive financial reporting experience• Demonstrated proficiency in querying databases and generating reports using various programs including Microsoft Access and Excel• Proficiency working with an Enterprise Resource Management System; Ellucian Banner ERP experience is a plus• Exceptional analytical skills, problem solving skills and decision-making abilities• Supervisory experience including performance evaluations and leading teams to achieve goals• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization• Demonstrated experience and commitment to customer service• Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goalsApplication Deadline: To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by January 10, 2025.
