NDE Level II Inspector, Penetrant Inspection (PT)

An NDE Level II Inspector at SpaceX mainly performs surface and volumetric NDE inspections. This involves interpreting and evaluating findings and communicating important results to the production and engineering teams. You'll also support the development of inspection techniques and assist in training fellow team members, ensuring high-quality evaluations of flight components.

To become an NDE Level II Inspector at SpaceX, you need a high school diploma or equivalent, along with Nondestructive Evaluation Level II certification in accordance with ASNT TC-1A, NAS-410, or DOD guidelines specifically for penetrant testing. Additional certifications in other NDE methods are highly preferred, as well as experience in aerospace NDE testing.

We're looking for candidates who have at least 2 years of operational experience as a Level II nondestructive evaluation/testing inspector. Preference is given to those who have practical experience in the aerospace sector, particularly in performing NDE inspections on complex materials such as high-strength aluminum and titanium.

Beyond basic qualifications, familiarity with advanced materials, strong problem-solving skills, and an understanding of Lean principles like continuous improvement initiatives can significantly boost your application. Proficiency with software like UTEX InspectionWare and knowledge of various industry standards can set you apart as a strong candidate.

As an NDE Level II Inspector at SpaceX, you can expect a flexible work schedule that may include various shifts such as first or second during weekdays, or weekend shifts.
