The Specialist Computer System Control assists the Director, University Computer Systems in the implementation, development, upgrade, and maintenance of the iRattler/PeopleSoft system. In coordination with the Director, University Computer System this position is responsible for the following duties: Develops components of the University's iRattler/PeopleSoft systems, while providing functional guidance and direction to the campus community; Develops application systems which are designed to provide information in a timely manner; Fulfills departmental requests/requirements in terms of providing data and identifying tables and fields for reporting needs; Identifies potential service level problems before they occur and communicate and/or implement solutions; Manages data dictionary of the Enterprise Applications; Assists in troubleshooting and providing technical system support for the Enterprise Applications group, including the monitoring, and reporting of group activities; Documents all issues, gaps, modifications, and customizations that affect the configuration, implementation and deployment of the Enterprise Application software and provide technical support to any recommendations made to address the identified issues, gaps, modifications, and customizations; and assists in the daily activities of the members of the Enterprise Application development team.
Provides senior level technical assistance to the Enterprise Application Development group; Works closely with other IT groups and functional areas to coordinate current and future plans and activities including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment, the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of new products; Assists and develops Enterprise Application reports, external interfaces from/to current legacy systems and third-party applications acquired to enhance functionality of the Enterprise Application systems; Provides weekly and monthly reports on system issues and their solutions, as well as assists in forecasts of future utilization and equipment requirements; Assists university/Board of Regents administrators and inter-institutional groups in resolving specific information systems problems and in disseminating information regarding SUS/university rules, policies, and contracts; and performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of the iRattler/PeopleSoft Systems.
Possession of a bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of experience or equivalent combination of training and directly related experience; and
Possession of a master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
