POSITION SUMMARY:
The Travel Applications Specialist focuses in three major areas'; Tier 2&3 Support for IPG's global travel application, Travel Application Site administration, and Travel Application Site maintenance. In addition, there will be assigned Projects & Other Duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Tier 2&3 Support
- Provide 2nd level technical support for all Interpublic Group offices globally where an online application has been deployed and process standard operational Technology duties and tasks
- Monitor and address any system performance issues including outages and response times.
- Request and process software change requests, and suggest site modifications to online booking and profile applications as part of best practice and any other non-standard settings
- Assure quality of systems interface, confirming successful and addressing unsuccessful file importing and exporting (Credit Card and HR to 3rd Party Profile Applications as well as GDS Interface and proper profile synchronization (profile applications to GDS and online profiles)
- Utilize an incident tracking system to view support requests, maintain established support SLA's, and communicate users
- Maintain and usage of internal and user-facing knowledge bases and all related support documentation
Site Administration
- Site Administration for Online Profile, Online Booking and Travel Portals deployed globally
- Configuration and maintenance of the online booking/profile platform to conform to IPG travel policy including appropriate booking formats, custom field editors, policy groups, company notes and company location updates
- Building of rules within each online booking and profile system for site efficiency
- Ensure preferred supplier information and discounts are properly loaded into online booking application
Site Maintenance
- Work in coordination with global team on system enhancements, recommendations for deployment and support all phases of testing
- Conduct research and facilitate problem resolution for service issues across IPG travel application ecosystem
- Maintain direct relationship with third-party online booking and travel profile vendors
- Develop and maintain knowledge and application of technology products via internal-facing knowledge base
- Understanding and adhering to IPG's data privacy policies and security best practices as it relates to the IPG travel application ecosystem
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5+ years travel industry experience preferred and/or equivalent technology background or practical experience
- Technology background or practical experience with travel mid-office, online booking applications or other related travel technology preferred
- GDS proficiency, Sabre preferred
- Due the nature of the global expanse of the IPG Travel Program, flexibility of extended work hours as needed, is required
- Ability to travel several times per year as needed, for internal meetings, company visits, etc.
- Project management experience preferred, specifically in managing initiatives with a diverse set of project stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Practical experience developing and documenting technical processes preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively multi-task while maintaining professional rapport with team members, clients and external vendors
- Ability to perform in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Skilled in usage of various software application packages to include Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/ PowerPoint.) SharePoint and Microsoft Project experience a plus
NYC SALARY RANGE:
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
