IOT Engineer/System/Network Engineer Locals Only – Hybrid - Farmington, Connecticut Long Term Contract Need local for F2F interview • Skills Needed: Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN, and security. Ability to write high-quality requirements around the solution. Automotive or aerospace background is beneficial. • Systems Background: Ability to document and test hardware and develop testing reports. • Additional Requirements: Work Hours: May need to start at 6 AM occasionally due to team locations in China, Berlin, and Japan. Early or late meetings 1-2 times a week.Looking For Someone Who• Understanding of fundamental components in communication system• transmitters, receivers, communication channels, noise/filters• Ability to define interfaces• Network topology design• ethernet - physical and logical layout of network scalability and redundancy, VLANs, switching configuration• Design systems to optimize bandwidth and data rate• signal processing techniques• modulation techniques, how diff communication protocols encode information in signal• data integrity management during communication• wired (CAN and ethernet) and wireless (BLE, wifi, cellular) communication systems• innovative trends in communication, 5G and newer communication protocols and standards• awareness of cybersecurity requirements and standards to the extend to have a technical discussion with cybersecurity architect, customer, or vendor• global compliance requirements related to different communication standards• EMC requirements, FCC, and RED directive, etc.ChallengeCommunication systems background with some level of design experience, must have good understanding on ethernet and CANNot looking for someone who has mainframe systems rather looking for design background. Has seen gaps in understanding in communication technology – good understanding of ethernet and CAN. CAN is often used in automotive and aerospace application.Looking for next generation of technology – someone who has exposure to state of the art technology.Main PointsLooking to create next generation compass, person will be working with the electrical and system engineers to help design requirement around what you are looking to do from a hardware standpoint. This is not necessarily a hands-on hardware person, more so someone who is documenting requirements around a solution, managing and designing a testing/running report from a high level standpoint. This person will be working alongside electrical and software engineers.Collaboration• Will work with electrical engineers and contacts in the US and China.Desired Experience• Communication Systems: Background in design, not maintenance. Knowledge of Ethernet and CAN, especially in automotive and aerospace contexts.• Innovation: Ability to bring state-of-the-art experience to the organization.
