But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Sr. Database Architect!

What you’ll do:

• Define the modern distributed database architecture for existing and new applications
• Build data structure designs, data models and distributed pipelines as required
• Instrument for high availability, performance, monitoring and observability
• Research, evaluate and propose tools, technologies and solutions best suited for the environment
• Automate deployments and maintenance with Ansible or other frameworks

The Right Fit:

• 7+ years of experience in MySQL / Percona, RocksDB and other relational databases, especially in distributed database systems
• Proficiency in Linux, IO subsystems, networking and performance engineering
• Experience managing Vitess in production to manage a large-scale storage environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with scripting, Perl, Python, SQL.
• Experienced in designing and implementing high availability strategies and capacity planning

Bonus Points:

• Experience working at a technology/software startup.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Familiarity with configuration management and automation software (Ansible preferred).
• Grasp of server and storage system hardware and configurations.
