SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Senior Engineer position in Facilities Planning, Design and Construction is to provide professional engineering design and construction administration services, as well as, technical expertise related to remodeling, renovation, new construction and equipment replacement projects.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Design evaluations and comments Evaluation of all engineering aspects of facility construction projects for FPDC. Communicates clearly, effectively and timely with management, co-workers, PMs, and stakeholders during the planning, design, construction, commissioning and activation of each project.

Project Design/Construction/Commissioning/Activation/Support Provides engineering design review and comments to ensure compliance with MDAs Owner Design Guidelines as well as codes and standards governing design and construction or buildings and utilities. Supports PM with Construction administration efforts to ensure project technical compliance with design document and specification. Facilitates engineering & technical communications among project team members. Acts as MDA's technical expert on project team as well as liaison between project team and MDA's Engineering group.

Technical Support Supports MD Anderson's O&M groups with evaluating and finding solutions to MEP operational issues. Lead project groups in support of data transitioning from Construction to Operations. Support other M.D. Anderson Departments in helping to set strategic long-term goals for building systems and asset replacements including the development of a potential CRR/FRM project list. Manages the development of Master MEP Drawings and specification for entry into REVIT or BiM/FiM modeling system, as well as recommending modification to Owner's Design Guidelines.

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field. Six years of engineering design experience with an emphasis on the design of facility systems. Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), State of Texas within 180 days of job entry.
