About the Role
We are looking for a Sr Staff Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure to lead a talented team of engineers based in the Bay Area, Seattle and India. Uber's data platforms and infrastructure are used by approximately half of Uber’s employee base distributed across the globe to make critical business decisions daily.
Sr Staff engineers at Uber have a deep impact across a wide variety of business and technology decisions spanning multiple projects and locations. What you’ll Do:
We need you to lead efforts within the organization to drive the design and development of various data solutions and/or architectures that address strategically important business or technical problems. This role is also responsible for defining and driving the standards and strategy for optimizing the various data solutions and/or architectures.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field AND 7-years full-time Software Engineering work experience OR 10-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 7-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:

Programming and scripting language (e.g. Python, SQL, Java/Scala)

Big data frameworks (e.g. Spark, Flink, Presto), data modeling, and writing ETLs

Designing end-to-end data solutions and architecture

Large-scale distributed systems
Preferred:

Big data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Presto, Flink, Airflow, etc

Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google)

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.
