As a Senior Business Operations Manager at Bluevine, you will use analytical rigor and sound business thinking to drive strategic decisions and position Bluevine as a best in class financial services platform for small businesses. The Senior Business Operations Manager will partner with line managers and executives to improve operational efficiency, retention, and revenue. In this highly analytical role, you will directly contribute to Bluevine's success by refining our operational strategy and driving successful execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assess drivers of operational expense, and identify and design solutions to measurably improve operational efficiency in Customer Support and Risk across each of our business units
  • Partner with operational leaders to design the evolution of our operations model in pursuit of cost efficiency and best-in-class experience for our target customers
  • Make thoughtful, analytically informed recommendations that involve tradeoffs between expense, risk, customer experience, and revenue
  • Develop a deep understanding of existing workflows to inform your joint efforts with operational leaders to improve efficiency
  • Spearhead projects end-to-end from problem definition, to solution design and decision-making, and through execution – including performance assessment, iteration, and transition to steady-state
  • Dive deeply into quantitative and qualitative signals of customer sentiment and perform novel analysis to uncover high-leverage opportunities to improve retention and revenue
  • Influence cross-functional planning to ensure the organization capitalizes on attractive efficiency, retention, and revenue opportunities
  • Support Customer Support and Risk partners and Finance with analyses and models that inform strategic decision-making and budgeting
  • Collaborate with BizOps peers and business unit General Managers to inform overall business strategy, including relative opportunity sizing and prioritization of initiatives that address disparate success levers

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree from a top university
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy or operations roles (Preferred: 2+ years experience at top management consulting firm and/or top MBA)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: defining business problems and alternatives soundly, scoping and conducting analyses to best inform decision-making, making recommendations with clear articulation of tradeoffs
  • Excellent analytical skills, including experience with large data sets (existing SQL and Tableau proficiency preferred but not required) and ability to build operational models without oversight; clear ability to drive complex analysis solo or to scope and oversee analysis done by others depending on what's called for
  • Ability to influence executive-level decision-making using novel analysis, informed business judgment, and strong verbal and written communication (including presentations)
  • Comfort probing others' plans and supporting refinement to drive maximum impact for Bluevine
  • Comfort leading multiple concurrent high-priority projects while fielding ad hoc requests and performing ongoing responsibilities
  • Excitement for both nitty-gritty operational problem-solving and bigger-picture business strategy
  • Well rounded understanding of our industry space, including major types of competitors and ecosystem participants
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment

New Hire Base Salary Range: $164,600 - $201,600
This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.
