Sr. Director Risk and Business Continuity | US

We're Hiring.

This role requires an experienced practitioner well-versed in risk, resilience and effective controls. Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for delivering business continuity management program across the enterprise. You will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, testing, training, and maintenance of Ubiquity’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) program. This role will provide the strategic vision for developing and directing enterprise technology and security risk and business continuity initiatives for all of the company's locations and functions; interfaces with supporting business units; and is responsible for the implementation and deployment of business continuity (BC), IT disaster recovery (ITDR), and crisis management (CM) planning, BIA efforts and risk assessment throughout the organization. This will ensure a high level of awareness across Ubiquity as well as the appropriate preparedness of personnel during an event, a business interruption, crisis, and/or a full-scale disaster.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Ubiquity’s business and supporting IT operations in order to develop, implement, test and maintain functional area business, disaster recovery and crisis management plans.
  • Leads and enhances the operating model and overall effectiveness of the enterprise Business Continuity program, in alignment with governing bodies and stakeholders across the enterprise, including Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery, as well as Business Continuity. Drive the ongoing development of risk based Business Resiliency strategy and toolsets utilized across the enterprise.
  • Develop and conduct business impact analysis (BIA) for all functional areas to validate business continuity needs/requirements for the supporting BC, ITDR and CM policies and plans.
  • Conduct a BIA for newly formed business operating units, new acquisitions, or other significant changes to the organization.
  • Develop and deploy a standardized toolkit for the purpose of developing and maintaining individual business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management plans within each of the functional areas.
  • Drive the testing and risk strategy and development of scenarios for annual business and enterprise exercises, define the annual schedule and ensure lessons learned reviews, documentation, and tracking of identified issues and mitigations.
  • Meet with executive management to understand business direction that may impact business continuity management strategies; and to share the results of training/exercises/tests.
  • Provide oversight and monitor Ubiquity yearly audits as it relates to PCI and SOC2 initiatives.
  • Monitor and provide oversight audit requirements impacting the Business Continuity Management program and maintain BCM assets accordingly.
  • Proactively research regulatory best practices and/or requirements for business continuity and provide details to management for possible enhancement of the business continuity management program.
  • Collaborate with peers nationally and internationally to better understand effective practices and new BC, ITDR and CM concepts.

  • This role requires strong leadership skills, analysis, communication, and stakeholder engagement to deliver expected results in a customer-focused, regulated environment.
  • This role will have accountability for monitoring BCM compliance, mitigating risks and improving enterprise preparedness for any type of event or crisis that may be disruptive to the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years managing and practical experience with business continuity management planning and program initiatives.
  • 10-15 years’ experience with large, complex, enterprise-wide business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management.
  • Industry certification(s) from: DRII, BCI, FEMA.
  • Proven experience recovering a company from an interruption and/or major disaster.
  • 10 years of either PCI, SOC2, HITRUST, ISO experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills to both large groups and executive management/board meetings.
  • Strong understanding of Risk, Threat and Vulnerability Analysis.
  • Critical thinker who can assess
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel, from end users to executive management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of risk assessment and management frameworks and principles.
  • Interested in global events and have a good understanding of how social, political, environmental, economic and conflict dynamics can affect enterprise risk.
  • Ability to lead and motivate, as well as work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understands Regulatory and Compliance Strategies with regard to SOC2, PCI, GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of internal control principles and practices.
  • Self-motivated, methodical and detail-oriented.

You will be required to attend local or virtual trainings, seminars, or webinars relevant to the job role to enhance your current knowledge base and skill set to improve job performance and efficiency. Attend at least one event a year, preferably twice.
