Sr. JAVA Developer

Under general direction, develops, tests, debugs, maintains and documents information systems applications. Applies programming and testing techniques and tools, code walk-throughs and audits, program testing and debugging. Executes complete life cycle for complex application components based on functional requirements.

The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Understand general assignments and work independently for the entire sprint.
• Subject matter expert on individual product components or small products.
• Stay focused on assignments and does not get distracted.
• Solve complex problems and utilize standard problem-solving techniques (e.g. brainstorming).
• Communicate and document technical aspects of work in a manner that is easily understood and actionable by peers.
• Articulate thoughts/design/idea/specs to IT managers and product owners.
• Understand and communicate thoughts/design/ideas/specs in an unambiguous manner and adjusts communication as per the context.
• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Able to design systems that span multiple technologies/platforms.

• Able to design complex medium or large-scale systems

• Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.

Education, Skills, and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Or equivalent combination of training/experience required.
• 5+ Years related experience required.
• Advanced understanding/demonstration of development process and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced features and functions of systems, processes, technology standards, and methodologies.
• Proficient in Java 11, JAVA EE, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL, PL/SQL, REST API design, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Relation Database design

• Knowledge of Vue.Js, Kotlin a plus

• Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player, self-starter, motivated, and multi-task oriented.
• Ability to prioritize work requirements.
• Preference for insurance business domain knowledge will be given (Policy, Claims, Other).

The expected salary range for this position is $126,801.96 - $140,891.07. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
