Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, review and process bi-weekly payrolls in the United States for over 400 salaried and hourly employees through Workday / OSV, ensuring compensation, variable pay, withholdings, benefit premiums and deductions are accurate
  • Coordinate with local HR in EMEA (UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France) and APAC (India and Singapore) to manage and review monthly international payroll updates for over 400 employees with service providers (Vistra and PaySquare) to ensure payroll process, data, and payments are accurate and timely
  • Partner closely with HR team members to coordinate employee compensation updates, new hires, separations, data changes, and approvals in Workday
  • Manage Workday time keeping approvals for non-exempt employees
  • Play a key role in Workday Payroll system upgrades/maintenance; assisting in the maintenance and testing of payroll controls to support accuracy and integrity of payroll data
  • Maintain strong processes that evidence payroll review and approval procedures are appropriate to ensure accurate payrolls globally
  • Coordinate with finance, monthly, to gather approved sales commissions and bonus compensation to upload to Workday for timely payments
  • Research complex payroll and taxation questions such as multi-state, global mobility, and fringe benefits and be able to document and communicate the complexity and proposed solutions
  • Maintain and update the Company's payroll procedures and policies, including partnering with OSV payroll provider to troubleshoot pay issues, review tax registrations, employee year-end tax documents, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and reporting
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to review and substantiate payroll accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll related analysis, and audits
  • Review and sign off quarterly and annual tax filings relating to payroll working closely with local HR and Finance
  • Maintain a strong understanding of risks and controls and ensure that all risks are mitigated by the effective design and operation of controls. Identify unmitigated risks, propose, and implement controls as needed.
  • Monitor 401K employee deferral plan changes, ensuring appropriate system configuration, and timely and accurate funding of employee contributions and employer match
  • Drive projects such as planning and implementing new country payroll platforms
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting all global payrolls
  • Manage a team of one payroll specialist

Qualifications:

  • Progressive global payroll related experience required
  • Working knowledge and experience with Workday and OSV (One Source Virtual) payroll system
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred
  • Current with ongoing payroll practices, IRS rules and regulations and HR changes to legislation
  • Payroll tax knowledge is preferred
  • Familiarity with technology platforms used by HR teams (Workday preferred)
  • Ability to research and resolve employee, audit, and accounting inquiries, seek solutions and follow through on complex tasks.
  • Experience in working with multi-state, global mobility, and taxable fringe benefits.
  • Strong understanding of payroll system structure and ability to build and maintain solid relationships with employees and strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Solid Excel skills with an eye for detail, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organization, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Willing to undertake further professional training relating to international payrolls
