Role and Responsibilities
Sr. Manager of Analytics will support the Senior Director of Supply Chain Strategy and Analytics towards various operational and strategic analytics projects for Samsung’s Mobile Division. The individual is expected to be hands-on to prepare Sales performance forecasting, risk/opportunity recommendations, channel/store level analytics to drive sales and inventory efficiency, creating operational insights as well as brainstorming and executing ad hoc analytics projects. Additionally, there are several strategic analytics projects to drive from concept to launch by developing concept, business case, and building/improving ML/AI Models for sales forecasting and other use cases. The role may include weekly analytics reporting, analysis and risk/opportunity assessment and to create insights/presentations for weekly executive review.
The role requires active engagement with internal business planning and supply chain teams, Process Innovation/Analytics team at our Headquarters and with National Carrier/Retail customers to build and improve descriptive to predictive models and execute strategic analytics projects.
The candidate should have strong critical thinking skills, be adaptive and creative to support the team and to create insights to improve sales and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate thrives at delivering strong recommendations, has an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving business decisions, has experience with building and operationalizing ML/AI driven forecast models, is a strong collaborator for iterative operations and review process, and is comfortable working with all levels.
The position is located within the central Mobile Supply Chain group located in Plano, TX. Korean Bi-lingual is a plus to interact with HQ teams.
Responsibilities
  • Hands-on with Sales and Supply Chain Operations related Analytics as well as general adhoc analytics
  • Conduct sell-out risk and opportunity analysis and build financial performance view
  • Deep understanding of Mobile Carrier level promotions, sales and channel actions
  • Improve long term forecasting w/suitable analytical methodologies
  • Create channel/store level performance analysis and models
  • Build/Improve ML/AI forecasting models for sales
  • Build scope/requirements and to work with data science teams to develop/improve ML models
  • Create presentations with compelling data driven story to share with leadership, cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; or 10+ years of directly related experience in data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on Quantitative analytics and driving recommendations in a business environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master degree is a plus
  • Strong detail oriented hands-on experience with Excel for business analytics
  • Experience with Tableau, data visualization and other tools
  • Building/improving ML/AI models for forecasting, pricing and promotional analytics in a business environment.
  • Experience with Python; Exposure to cloud analytics to build/improve models is preferred
  • Creative thinker with excellent business acumen, analytic skills and experience with statistical modeling
Preferred Skills:
  • High level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization
  • Adaptability, using advanced preparation to quickly pivot throughout the week as key messaging and leadership direction changes
  • Exceptional presentation skills with good Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities
  • Korean Bi-lingual is a plus to interact with Samsung HQ team
  • Experience of working with Telecom, Technology, Consumer Electronics and/or Retail industry is strongly preferred
