JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Product Designer at our company, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the user experience and our business objectives. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product & Design, your responsibilities will encompass an array of tasks, from the creation of high-quality interaction designs and the development of a comprehensive design language system to guiding product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with product & engineering leadership. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders, including internal business teams, assessors, auditors, as well as external clients. Your leadership will be integral to the cross-functional team, driving the conceptualization and delivery of customer-focused products while championing the principles of user-centered design methodologies
Essential Functions:
  • Create high-quality interaction designs in an iterative manner, proactively offering recommendations and solutions grounded in research and analysis
  • Help guide strategy and define roadmap in close collaboration with product and engineering leadership.
  • Independently partner with cross-functional team members in the conceptualization and delivery of our customer-focused products.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive design language system, style guide, patterns, and assets in the creation of UX analysis, solutions, and deliverables.
  • Guide the evolution of the design language system over time, incorporating user insights, team feedback, and ongoing design trends to continuously improve our product's usability and aesthetics.
  • Ensure that all stages of product design, from ideation to implementation, are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Director of Product Management to develop KPIs and Metrics to track feature and product success.
  • Advocating for the customer through human centered design methods, including: discovery, research, ideation, whiteboard sessions, and user testing
  • Lead design reviews, providing constructive criticism, and incorporating feedback into design decisions. Familiarity with Design Thinking, Design Sprints, and Decision Jam preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in the use of design software such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, or other industry-standard tools.
  • Exceptional skills in ideation, sketching, wireframing, user flows, mapping, and information architecture.
  • Ability to communicate designs and strategy persuasively & concisely to all functions and levels, including executives.
  • Comfort giving and receiving critique in design reviews.
  • Strong understanding of design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
Education, Work Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a product designer in the tech industry with demonstrated web design experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating breadth and depth in UX/UI design, process, and outcomes.
  • Proficient in designing for a variety of screen sizes and platforms: mobile, desktop, and web.
  • Previous experience working with cross-functional teams and in an agile environment.

At Schellman, we strive to provide a flexible and balanced environment and therefore offer the opportunity to work remotely, unless otherwise stated in the job requirements. Connecting, collaborating and continuous education are also highly valued and therefore we require approximately 20% travel annually for our Operations roles, which can include in-person training, team meet-ups, and strategy meetings. Service Delivery team members will also be required to travel based on business and client needs.
