Job Purpose
Albany International is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting (CAFR) team inour Rochester, NH location.
As a Staff Accountant on the CAFR team, you will report to the Accounting Supervisor, and own assigned areas that contribute to Corporate close and consolidation, including procedures that help ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. This role will include maintaining financial records and reports, posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and assisting in the financial statement and disclosure preparation for internal and external reporting. Job Responsibilities
- Become proficient in our ERP system SAP, post journal entries, review ledger detail, and gain an understanding of the underlying transactions,
- Own the mapping and posting of trial balance activity for legal entities on different ledger systems, and perform reviews of performance of such entities for reasonableness,
- Contribute to the performance of controls around consolidation of financial results, specifically around monitoring legal entity loading, intercompany eliminations and translation,
- Own assigned topics within Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team in support of company-wide month-end close activities,
- Support Internal and External reporting, including preparation of consolidated Income Statements and Balance Sheets and related disclosures, as well as benefit plan reporting,
- Perform account reconciliations,
- Perform various SOX controls,
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors,
- Occasional, but less than 10%, travel to various company locations
Requirements:
Qualifications/Characteristics
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting,
- Early career with up to 3 years of experience,
- Basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles,
- Foundational knowledge of public company requirements, including SEC reporting regulations and SOX
