The Resource and Information Management Division (RM) of the Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) is seeking to fill a Staff Assistant position. The selected candidate will provide operational and administrative support to the department's capacity development (CD) activities. They will be part of the team supporting the organization of missions by divisions, and the administration of the fiscal expert roster. Tasks and duties include:
Advise the project managers to set up CD activities in the Capacity Development Management and Administration (CDMAP) system.
Perform quality control of activities in CDMAP.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of mission travel information in the Travel Information Management System (TIMS) for staff and experts on an ongoing basis.
Assist with maintenance of TIMS, including mission, expert roster, and capacity development report finalization information.
Assist with administrative arrangements for recruiting and contracting of short- and long-term experts and processing travel authorizations; liaise with other departments (Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology Department), as well as with FAD divisions, on expert contracts, security, and travel arrangements.
Ensure CD delivery and recruitment of experts comply with Fund policies and regulations.
Contribute to the administration of externally financed CD projects, including preparing and reviewing documentation and managing deadlines.
Contribute to special projects.
Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of two years of relevant experience, is required. No previous experience would be required for those who have completed a university degree.
In additional to the above minimum qualifications, the selected candidate must possess:
High level of planning, organization, and multitasking skills as well as ability to prioritize tasks.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with Fund staff and external contacts at all levels.
Knowledge of enterprise systems (such as PeopleSoft or Workday) and advanced Excel functions.
Ability to work independently and as a team member, learn quickly, and work under tight deadlines.
Sound judgment and effective interpersonal skills,
Demonstrated ability to learn modern technology quickly and effectively use it for maximum productivity.
Client-focused personality and dedicated team player with strong problem-solving skills, creativity, initiative, and attention to detail.
Only candidates who are currently residing in the Washington DC metro area will be considered.
This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
