Brief Job Description
The UPD Staff Assistant provides technology and administrative support to the department. They are the administrator of the department scheduling software system and as such are responsible for creating and maintaining the dashboard used by all personnel to ensure minimum staffing requirements are met and that all requested overtime for university needs or special events is covered and billed as appropriate. They will serve as the point of contact with Erie County to maintain our records management system software and also assist with the maintenance of patrol car technology. Additional focus will be on department payroll support and onboarding of new department members.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree;
- Experience in a computer-tech related position involving troubleshooting and/or installing software/hardware;
- Demonstrated experience managing or assisting with the scheduling of personnel, event billing and accounts receivable procedures;
- Strong customer service or training skills in a college environment;
- Knowledge of computer hardware/software installation and trouble-shooting processes;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products is required, as well as a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and experience with website editing software like Drupal;
- Must pass a police background check for civilian employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree;
- Administrative experience on a college campus could be used in place of the Bachelor’s Degree.
