Staff Python Engineer

The Role

As part of our Onsite organization, we are looking for a self-driven and ambitious Python developer responsible for the development and maintenance of Hopin onsite backend powering our dashboard and mobile apps. This service will be part of a larger distributed ecosystem. 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is comfortable in a fast paced start-up environment as well as working as part of a distributed remote development team. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of a quality product is essential.

Responsibilities 

• Design the backend architecture with an eye for performance and ease of use.
• Care about code from development, to shipping and maintaining.
• Promote best practices amongst your team and peers
• Focus on testing, security, and keeping the end-user in mind

About you

• Commercial experience in Python software development (4+ years)
• Experience with SQL and RDMS databases in general.
• Experience working on a horizontally scalable distributed system.
• Experience developing REST APIs.
• Follows software development best practices

Nice to haves

• Django Framework and Django Rest Framework experience.
• Experience with Kafka and Protobuf
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines. Ideally: Gitlab pipelines
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with GraphQL
