Develops new solutions and methods for experimentation and learning.As a senior design & operations engineer you will…• Enable innovation and operational excellence by assessing the benefits and impacts of product, technology and method changes to retail store operations. Integrate engineering principles and technologies and suggests improvements to processes and new technology/ tools to measure, analyze and improve experimentation and rapid learning.• Assess current store product lineup, technology or tools to understand and capture level of complexity.• Participates on cross-functional project teams and acts as a resource in translating business requirements into objectives, and resolving, process, modeling or other obstacles.• Communicate technical concepts to cross functional partners in a way that is approachable and resonates with the audience.• Develop time standards through observations and time studies within the stores and kitchens. Establish and calculate equipment, partner and store capacity to optimize production and efficiency.• Travel at least once per quarter for market visits.• Put together pitches, presenting to leaders and making recommendations.We’d love to hear from people with:• BS or higher in engineering (industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering) or related technical discipline• Engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical or industrial) with increasing scope and responsibilities (5+ years)• Technical project execution with demonstrated attention to detail and achieving results without direct supervision (+3 years)• Performance metrics development and root cause analysis 5-8 years• Project management (5+ years)As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
