Arizona Department of EducationThe Arizona Department of Education is a service organization committed to raising academic outcomes and empowering parents.CTE, Program Project Specialist IJob Location:Career and Technical Education (CTE) SectionPhoenix LocationPosting Details:Salary: $47,000 - $50,000Grade: 18Closing Date: 09/16/24Job Summary:• This position will help support DECA and Business and Marketing (BM), Communication, Media, and Technologies (CMT) program specialists.• Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.Job Duties:• Perform specialized work in the area creating, managing data bases, and reports related elated to DECA and Business and Marketing (BM), Communication, Media, and Technologies (CMT) program specialists• Compile programmatic data reports to meet requested need of the DECA State Advisor, BM education, and/or CMT education• Maintain and coordinate with website administrator to ensure the DECA web page is updated and posted in a timely manner• Manage the DECA testing system and create statistical reports• Update and maintain guideline materials• Perform administrative duties that support the DECA State Advisor; DECA activities, BM program specialist, CMT program specialist, inclusive of, but not limited to phone management, email, and schedule assistance, maintaining records, generating reports, etc.• Assist the planning and coordination of meetings and conferences, including, travel policies and procedures, printing policies and procedures• Develop, implement, and manage a procedure for identifying need, ordering, disseminating, storing, and keeping constant inventory of supplies for CMT education, BM education, and the DECA State Advisor• Conduct necessary research to answer investigative inquires to internal and external customers• Develop procedures as directed and/or needed for DECA in cooperation with CTE unit Deputy Associate Superintendent (DAS), Supervisor, DECA State Advisor, BM education, and CMT education• Provide project management support in travel, procurement, federal and state reporting, database management and research for CMT education, BM education, and DECA State Advisor• Coordinate long range planning efforts for trainings, events, and sessions for the CMT education, BM education, and the DECA State Advisor• Provide support for DECA, BM education, and CMT education meetings by scheduling rooms and taking minutes to ensure that the proper information is being documented and distributed• Prepare materials, maintain database, and distribute PD certificates for all BM and CMT education trainings• Provide support and documentation to ensure a CTE program is approved to have a CTSOKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge in:• Letter and memo composition• Common mathematical calculations utilized in spreadsheets/data analysis• English grammar and punctuation• Applicants must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one prior to employment start dateSkills in:• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships• Written and verbal communication skills for a business environment• Web based communication• Organizing, implementing, and coordinating multiple activities at the same time• Note taking and interpretation of notes• Proofreading• Word processing, data management, and document preparation (graphics, publishing, and presentation programs)• Strong mathematical and data analysis abilities with a high attention to detail• Positive work environment skills• Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Ability to:• Establish and maintain effective working relationships• Plan coordinate, analyze and establish priorities• Develop effective operating procedures• Organize, implement and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously• Analyze data within associated reports• Follow supervisory instructions• Work independently• To do detail-oriented work• Work in a team and contribute to the outcomesSelective Preference(s):Preference will be given to those applicants with:• Knowledge of Career and Technical Education rules, regulations, operating and monitoring procedures.• Knowledge of preparation of contract, and other agreementsPre-Employment Requirements:Applicants must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one prior to employment start date.Offers are contingent upon successful completion of all background and reference checks, required documents and, if applicable, a post-offer medical/physical evaluation.If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).Benefits:The State of Arizona provides an excellent comprehensive benefits package including:• Affordable medical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance plans• Top-ranked retirement and long-term disability plans• Ten paid holidays per year• Vacation time accrued at 4.00 hours bi-weekly for the first 3 years• Sick time accrued at 3.70 hours bi-weekly• Paid Parental Leave-Up to 12 weeks per year paid leave for newborn or newly-placed foster/adopted child (pilot program).• Deferred compensation plan• Wellness plansLearn more about the Paid Parental Leave pilot program here.
