The Office of Economic Development and International Trade (“OEDIT”) was created to foster a positive business climate that encourages quality economic development through support of local and regional economic development activities throughout the State of Colorado. A comprehensive slate of programs within OEDIT’s divisions work together to offer economic development services for all Colorado businesses – new and expanding, traditional and emerging, small and large – including retention programs to ensure continued competitiveness of Colorado’s economic base, and job training to keep Colorado’s workforce the best in the nation.Description Of JobThe position offers full-time employment as an exempt, at-will State of Colorado Employee with an anticipated duration through December 2026, with the possibility of extension based on available funding.OEDIT is looking for a highly detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Coordinator who excels at customer service and administrative efficiency. This position will coordinate the day-to-day HR generalist functions for our growing agency. This includes providing support in the recruitment and hiring process; onboarding and offboarding employees; managing employee benefits, including leave matters; maintaining employee records; working closely with the Payroll team; and assisting the Human Resources Director in all aspects of the employee experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to grow their career, gaining exposure to every aspect of HR.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe HR Coordinator will act as the key support system for the HR Director in overseeing the overall employee lifecycle within the organization, including but not limited to the following areas and responsibilities:HR Administration• Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance to the Human Resources Director• Maintain records of personnel-related records (personal information, benefits, job descriptions, leaves, performance, and more) and ensure all employment requirements are met.• Liaise with other internal and external partners (payroll, benefits, compensation, legal counsel, learning & development)• Coordinate and track personnel action forms (PAFs)HR Operations and Programs• Assist with HR policy updates, compliance, and maintenance of HR information on the officewide intranet• Stay informed on equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (IDEA) and assist in incorporating IDEA into HR practices• Create and customize reports and metrics• Perform internal audits of systems and files• Assist supervisors in performance management procedures• Coordinate employee learning and development• Coordinate training sessions and seminars• Facilitate employee engagement initiatives• Stay current and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations• Support special HR projects• Other duties as assignedTalent Acquisition & Onboarding• Support hiring teams with the recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job descriptions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and completion of new hire paperwork• Ensure IDEA is at the core of all aspects of recruiting and hiring• Lead employees and supervisors through the onboarding and offboarding processesBenefits Administration• Guide employees through benefits enrollment, open enrollment, benefits changes• Serve as point of contact for leave requests• Track leave associated with Family Medical Leave (FML), Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI), American Disabilities Act (ADA), Workers' Compensation (WC), Short-Term Disability (STD); monitor return-to-work steps, ensuring required forms and requests are completed and filedDisclaimer: This job posting provides a high-level job definition. Therefore, the individual appointed to this position is considered at-will, and is not covered by the State Personnel Rules or the State Classification System. However, this position does come with the same benefits (retirement, insurance, etc.) as every other State employee, and with the same opportunities, pride and passion that comes with working for the great State of Colorado. Even though employment is at-will, non-classified positions have protections against discrimination and retaliation in state and federal employment laws. “At-will” employment means that either the employee or the State may terminate the employment relationship at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without notice or cause, as long as no federal or state law is violated.A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
