OverviewThe State of Vermont Information Center Division is seeking motivated, self-starting, individuals with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to promote Vermont and welcome visitors to our State. This position is based at the Lyndonville Info Center on Interstate 91, with the possibility of working at other locations. Evenings, weekends and holidays are required.Duties include a combination of customer service tasks involving greeting and providing information to visitors, map reading, and record keeping. This position also requires custodial tasks such as hourly cleaning of rest rooms, mopping, snow removal (including shoveling and/or use of snow blower) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidate should also possess the ability to use Microsoft Office software. Applicants must be self-starters and be able to work independently, highly motivated and task oriented, and possess attention to detail.Who May ApplyThis position, Information Center Representative II (Job Requisition #50885), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. You must apply online to be considered.Environmental FactorsWork is usually performed at an assigned facility. Duties may include the occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds. Evening and weekend shifts may be required. Some overtime work may be necessary. Incumbents must be able to work out of doors in all weather, and on rough and slippery ground.
