IntroductionThe Department of Corrections (DOC) is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. Using cutting-edge research and evidence-based approaches, employees implement lasting change with a positive impact for the people of Wisconsin.The Division of Adult Institutions, Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE) is currently recruiting to fill an Accountant position. This position will be headquartered at the DOC central office in Madison, WI.Position SummaryThis position performs accounting functions and financial reporting for BCE and assists in meeting the operational and reporting requirements that are set in State Statutes and unique from the rest of DOC, given the manufacturing focus of the Bureau mission and operations. This position is responsible for a number of fiscal reporting activities, including analysis, sales forecasting, cash reporting, statements, budget projections, monitoring, reconciliation of expenses and revenues on a monthly, quarterly and year-end basis.Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation of the quarterly and annual cash reports for an Enterprise fund (correctional farms), maintenance and reconciliation of BCE fixed assets, and tracking and analysis of capital projects. This position also manages and reconciles BCE's year-end inventory of raw materials and retail inventory reconciliation process for Agriculture, Industries, and Logistics.Salary InformationThe starting pay is between $42952 and $70782 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 07-04.
