DOA is looking for an effective communicator and strong team-player to join the Office of the Secretary in this limited-term opportunity.This position is located at the Department of Administration State Office Building,101 East Wilson Street, Madison, WI. This position currently has the flexibility to work remotely. Additional time in the office may be required depending on training and operational needs. In addition, this position may support internal DOA employee communication and engagement efforts, including DOA Town Halls, weekly newsletter, and assistance with writing copy. This position will work with the public, state and local agencies, community interest and advocacy organizations, news, and print media.Salary InformationStarting hourly rate for the Communications Specialist position (schedule/range 07-05) will be $20.00 per hour - $23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.Job DetailsThis position will require the ability to travel statewide for conferences, trainings, and meetings.This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year). Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.QualificationsQualified applicants will have training, education, and/or experience with each of the following:• Preparing presentations, graphics, newsletters, reports and other communication materials for outreach and engagement activities.• Facilitating in-person and virtual meetings.• Establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.How To ApplyApply online!
