Stowage Planner

Has responsibility for stowing assigned vessels safely whilstoptimising utilisation and efficiency of the operation.This role is responsible for formulating stowage plans that achieve safety, cost leadership and service delivery. He/she is accountable for driving performance and implementing the improvement opportunities of the service he/she oversees.Your responsibilities: Design the position of boxes on the ship and produces a layout that is seaworthy which means safe to sail, which include dangerous goods are segregated safely, bays are set-up to allow maximum number of cranes to work on it, weight is evenly distributed, stability and stresses and safety criteria are metOwn and ensure the stowage plan output is in compliance with regulatory and company's rules.Achieve efficient vessel operations through active collaboration to reduce port stay.Own the results of the stowage plan he/she oversees and drive continuous improvements.Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and maximize vessel utilisation.Follow through the entire stowage process with stakeholders.Follow stowage planning SOPs and give recommendations for process improvement and ensure optimal performance.Identify issues that affect operations, highlight and follow up with the necessary actions to prevent/mitigate any impact from contingencies.Assists in determining deployment for vessels based on vessel characteristics and trade requirements.Establishes, and continuously reviews SOPs for smooth operation of the team.Optimises vessel stowage to ensure vessels are able to lift maximum cargo volume, with minimum operational expenses.Works closely with Stowage Analysts (on certain services) and with capacity management functions to ensure correct cargo is prioritised and all parties are aware of unutilised capacity.Follows up on the stowage plan sent to terminals to ensure billing for CY work done is correct.Ensures all record keeping is followed as per SOP set to the team.Proactively proposes alternatives to schedules or vessels that are not suitable for the vessel deployment.Alerts the Operations team of any stowage issues that may affect turnaround time of vessel caused by inducement call or port omission.What we are looking for: Academic background in Programming, Engineering or Mathematics is a must.Advanced English level (Required).Good communication and problem-solving skills.Good time management and organizational skills.Able to work well under stressSelf-starter and drivenGood team playerDiligent and committed with high sense of urgencyAble to influence stakeholders without authorityWho we are: A.P.
