Position Overview
This position will provide comprehensive Sourcing support to Proterra’s Sourcing Manager and other site leadership team members. You will be accountable to support the supplier strategy and sourcing efforts on current supply base, existing and new product, and design changes. Key metrics include, but are not limited to, percent of parts on contract, on time to source new components, part set up in Oracle, as well as alignment with Accounts Payable on assuring supplier gets paid on time, engineering changes tracking, collecting buy America certificates, and supporting the Sourcing organization in meeting their goals for cash, cost (Bill of Materials cost reduction), supplier capacity by collaborating with internal and external customers, including Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, Finance, and Quality.
About the Role – You will:
- Drive parts availability (to source) from item master to PO assuring proper Oracle setup
- Source parts at 95%+ OTTS (on time to source) within two weeks of ECO release and outside of supplier lead time, supporting New Product Introduction
- Utilize Oracle for part setup and planning
- Analyze commodity volume for contracting opportunities and negotiate pricing agreements with key suppliers
- Support cost reduction initiatives to decrease bill of material cost through such activities as research, analyzation and negotiation
- Review and provide feedback to Engineering on ECO’s with respect to supplier cut-in, inventory on hand, and technical issues
- Support the manager of Supplier Chain through a balance of cost, quality and delivery
- Solicit suppliers for their Buy America Certificates, DBE, USMCA, and other certifications
- Focus on supplier performance improvement to support delivery and capacity ramp up at our facilities

- This position will be part of the Sourcing team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
- You will report to the Sourcing Manager and collaborate with other Sourcing team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing or high-tech industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge or understanding of ERP system (i.e., Oracle)
- Experience with research, analyze and negotiation
- Experience managing multiple objectives and plans and communication to users and customers.
You might also have:
- MBA or advance degree
- Tableau experience is a plus
