Student Communications Planning Manager

Job Posting Summary

The Manager of Student Communications Planning will be responsible for assisting with the execution of the College’s continuing student communication plan. This role offers support for our Student Communications Integration (SCI) team by handling key day-to-day tasks and acting as the main point of contact for CRM related communications. One of the main responsibilities of this person will be the creation, maintenance and execution of the college-wide communication calendar and effective deployment using the college’s CRM (Slate). The Manager of Student Communications Planning will work with all college departments to be an effective contributor to the success of SCI team.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication plans for the continuing student body at the college from point of commitment through graduation for both undergraduate and graduate students
  • The main planner for all communications to students, faculty and staff as needed, through the college’s CRM
  • Build relationships, and serve as a main point of contact, with colleagues across the college to establish interdepartmental communication strategy
  • Responsible for communications calendar
  • Responsible for directing all CRM activity implementing new communication plans as needs arise and executing ad hoc communications as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager, Student Systems Integration to ensure timely, effective and comprehensive communication plans are implemented.
  • Report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Exceptional written, communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Knowledge of CRM systems a plus, especially Slate
  • Experience with other operations software desirable
  • Familiarity and comfortability with CRM reporting and dashboard management
  • Advanced technology skills with an ability to quickly learn and navigate new platforms
  • 3+ years professional experience within marketing/communications or multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • A passion for communications and a commitment to excellence
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
Physical/Other Requirements:
  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required during peak times or to meet deadlines. Participation at admissions related events is also expected.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy College Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the College.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy College and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy College, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
