THE SYSYEMS ENGINEER POSITION
Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Systems Engineer to be responsible for ensuring effective computer operations so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks. This role provides technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, hardware, cyber defenses, cyber monitoring and event logging. The successful candidate must be an initiative-taker, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work well under pressure, own deliverables end to end, employ advanced data analytics techniques, and demonstrate solid pattern analysis.
SYSYEMS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
•Works in close knit team to update systems/platforms in accordance with best practices and team procedures/policies within defined framework(s) and leveraging change management tracking tools/platforms. Some changes may be IT services/software project deployments or significant upgrades.
•Performs regular log reviews on supporting platforms, escalates and reacts to evidence-based need(s) for security and platform stability and enhancements.
•Role is both internal and customer facing with clients in the general business and with development teams in IT. Walks customer through problem-solving process from ticket to completion; and in some cases, through changes and problem management, generally at a Tier 2 and Tier 3 level.
•Installs, modifies, repairs and manages end-of-life for computer hardware, operating systems, firmware, patches, cloud and hybrid platforms and local devices.
•Assists in managing new user accounts from over fifty local and cloud-based systems following identified processes (and in some cases helping to create process) including security related maintenance and configuration for Microsoft 365/Azure tools/products like TEAMS, OneDrive and SharePoint.
•Works in a team environment to respond to case escalations from intake team. Convert escalations that require changes into change management system (Atlassian JIRA).
•Makes recommendations for new procedures, processes, services and tools to address stability and security enhancements or cost savings.
•Runs diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
•Monitors licensing utilization and hardware inventory as necessary.
•Organize and perform tests related to pending software/firmware updates or new role-outs.
•Participates in scheduled audit tasks, regular change management organized release and maintenance periods.
•Responds to probing threats to users like phishing, vishing, malware and other end user challenges.
•Serves as a mentor and coach for less experienced team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•10+ years of progressive Systems/IT support roles with 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune.
•Demonstrated ability to deliver superior customer service, communications, dynamic team interpersonal skills and ability to work with remote staff.
•Experience with PC imaging via MS Intune including application deployment and.MSI file updates.
•Experience with AWS IAM, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 or Google Cloud role/security customizations, configuration and administration.
•Experience supporting, configuring and trouble-shooting desktops, laptops, and other office peripherals in an office setting; experience configuring and troubleshooting devices including but not limited to smart phones (iOS, Android) tablets, proprietary devices, cloud and local servers, SaaS solutions and middleware.
•Legally authorized to work in the US for ANY employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or mathematics.
•Experience with Salesforce.com and other cloud solutions preferred.
•Experience with SSO solutions like MS Entra ID Connect and/or OKTA SSO or other competitor.
•Experience with cloud file sharing platforms like Egnyte and/or OneDrive.
•Experience with cloud SaaS platforms like Smartsheet, LucidChart, MS Teams Phone, Atlassian products like JIRA, Confluence and JIRA Service Management. Other platforms like New Relic, Meraki, DocuSign Admin and Integration, ProofPoint, Netwrix, Heroku, Tableau, eOriginal, Carbon Black and MS Defender(or similar tool), Experian and Xhibit.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Working knowledge of Windows Servers 2022 Administration with Active Directory (Provisioning, Group Policies, OU, etc.) and Systems Management tools as well as Azure AD Premium or AWS Active Directory service.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 pro/enterprise and Apple iOS/Mac for iPad/Mac.
•Experience with administering Microsoft 365 – Teams, Exchange, Excel, OneDrive and/or SharePoint.
oModerate to highly skilled Excel skills highly desired.
•Demonstrated knowledge of one or all of the following: SQL, Python, PowerShell and/or Selenium script ability.
•Strong written, and oral communication skills, and a willingness to “do whatever it takes” with high energy within a collaborative team environment, high degree of professionalism.
•Basic knowledge of VoIP/Cloud telephony systems like Teams Voice. Ability to provision and setup new phones through administration of MAC addresses.
•Experience using a help desk ticketing system to record and track customer reported incidents and track time to cases.
•Experience testing new software releases including internally developed systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS
•Hybrid work schedule split between home and an open office environment.
•Occasional nights/weekends when workload and/or project deliverables require.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Able to lift up-to 50 pounds and maneuver equipment unassisted.
•Ability to move around the office to various workstations and storage rooms.
•Finger dexterity for computer and equipment use/repair.
