Assistant Professor of Interaction DesignDescription of Department:The SUNY Oswego Department of Art and Design aims to provide artstudents with the tools needed to create foundations for thefuture. The department seeks ambitious students who wish to gainknowledge through hands-on experiences, combining art and designhistory and contemporary developments within the field tounderstand the past and speculate upon the future. The StateUniversity of New York at Oswego is accredited by the Middle StatesCommission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and is an institutionalmember of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design(NASAD).By working with art and design history, studio art, graphic design,illustration, and interaction design, students are givenopportunities to expand their artistic horizons, define and usecurrent methodologies, and firmly grasp the importance of theirwork in multiple aspects of modern society. Students and facultyboldly explore the tangible and the rhetorical dimensions ofart.At Oswego, students can elect degree programs that include theBachelor of Arts (B.A.) and (B.F.A.) in Fine Arts with degree areasincluding Studio Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, and InteractionDesign. There is also the opportunity to earn a minor in variousart and design related areas. We offer a wide range of courses inmultimedia, illustration, art history, ceramics, painting,interaction design, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture,web design, 3D modeling, museum studies, graphic design, arttherapy, and motion graphics.Our studios place us firmly at the intersection of today's digitalevolution with the ability to dive into emerging media forms asthey appear on the horizon. The recently renovated studios in TylerHall are well-equipped to support all our disciplinary areas acrossthe fine and performing arts.
