About The Opportunity
The Supply Chain EHS Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and assessing site center accidents, health, environmental, and safety programs under the direction of the Director of Site. You will be responsible for reducing and managing claims and lost time injuries by providing safety and workers compensation support to an assigned site center. The support provided will include training; inspection; implementation of policies and procedures; measurement; communication, and compliance with Medifast safety requirements. Candidate will conduct and/or develop appropriate safety and environmental training for managers, supervisors, and employees. Work will be accomplished through routine meetings, conference calls, and on-site.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the workers comp process for accident prevention to reduce risk of job-related injuries and illnesses for all in the facility. This includes working with the Conner Strong and Risk management partners to ensure compliance.
- Ensures that an assigned site complies with OSHA and other state and federal standards through facility inspection. In addition, ensure that the unit complies with safety and workers compensation procedures.
- Ensures that units have effective “on-going” safety awareness programs to promote a safe work environment, including monthly safety topics, dashboards, and Injury Frequency Rate (IFR).
- Develops and ensures that the assigned site complies with Supply Chain EHS standard work to include scheduling and training of all activities.
- Performs trend analysis from incidents, near misses, safe behavior observation and compliance audits
- Provides training to managers to follow safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment through training, presentations, conference calls, and the distribution of safety materials.
- Ensures that site management receives monthly status reports.
- Follows OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations as defined by federal, state, local laws and Compass Support Services and client’s policies/procedures.
- Actively monitors/inspects the workplace to determine the presence of hazards and take appropriate action to rectify any hazards found.
- Develop and lead the internal crisis, emergency action plans and safety committees; and advise and train employees and management in all guidelines. .
- Previews the component injury data, ascertain location of injuries, and provide recommendations to eliminate hazards.
- Trains management in proper methods of investigation, and inspection format; compliance with safety laws and regulations
- Conducts Safety Inspections and observations of an assigned facility for hazards through walk-through visits, to include on-site evaluations and training as related to workplace safety.
- Consults with HR and Director at site location to a set frequency to discuss overall Supply Chain EHS standard practices and processes.
- Initiates, processes, monitors, and reports on workers’ compensation claim trends and develops strategies that address injury management.
- Manage Covid protocol in conjunction with HR and Quality for the site location.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities
- BA/BS IN OCCUPATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY RELATED FIELD
- BCSP CERTIFICATION IS A PLUS
- MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT OF EHS PROGRAMS
- 2 TO 3 YEARS OF SUPERVISOR OR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN GOOD EHS PRACTICES
- GOOD OBSERVATION, AUDIT AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
- Experience in implementing a variety of occupational health, environmental and safety programs.
- Ability to conduct investigations, evaluations, and evaluating cost and risk factors.
- Ability to interpret and apply a variety of laws, rules and regulations related to EHS (Title 40, Title 29, etc.).
- Self-directed and ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Provide comprehensive EHS support for site processes.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, management, and customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to travel when needed
- Ability to work well with internal and external business partners.
