Position Summary
The College Health Sciences/PHIT at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Support Services Director position. The Support Services Director Supports all aspects of the Public Health & Informatics Technology Program, including grant development, program development, and internal policy and procedures for all support services. The Support Services Director will support PHIT to ensure curriculum, consortium, sustainability, and training goals and milestones, both programmatic and fiscal, are compliant. The Support Services Director advises PHIT staff on policy and procedures; budgets; reporting; compliance/quality assurance; and grant monitoring. This position supports all arms of PHIT — academy, curriculum, sustainability, fiscal monitoring and compliance, and program development.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education
Master’s Degree in higher education, business, technology, or a related field is required.

Minimum Required Experience
  • Six to ten years’ experience in implementing higher education programs, supervision, grants, and budgets.
  • Six to ten years of experience in program development, coordination, collaboration.

None.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience in higher education, working with students from diverse populations, and grant administration is required.
  • Must have prior experience with grant compliance and federal regulations in grant implementation.

  • Demonstrated high-level discretion and sound judgment with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new conditions and assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, set priorities, and provide timely responses to urgent issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a high-performing team and exercise high professionalism.
  • Advanced technological skills using Excel, tableau, and project management software.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and track services, activities, associate with high school academy
  • Recruit, enroll, monitor, and supervise student participants and undergraduate interns
  • Hire, train, and supervise all support services contractors, consultants, and participants
  • Service as liaison with local educational agencies- high school and community college
  • Create and submit all required reports, contracts, and other documents within the designated timelines
  • Provide supports services to include fiscal review for all PHIT sustainability programs
  • Assist with all fiscal and budget components of PHIT grant applications — submitted and funded
  • Assist in developing budgets to support department needs
  • Provide technical support to staff
  • Ensure open communication between all staff is maintained to meet deadlines and facilitate the operation of projects
  • Lead efforts to promote and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment
  • Promote and demonstrate a commitment to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Assist in the review and updates of department policies, procedures, and documents
  • Stay current on national trends and best practices in Public Health & Informatics technology
  • Attend training, meetings, and conferences as directed
  • Serve on campus committees as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records related to program data collection
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
