E2403774-3Job DescriptionRole Summary/Purpose:As a leader within the Client Development & Sales Governance organization, this role is responsible for developing the strategic plans and leading key governance activities focused on the design and deployment of commercial wide surveillance and preventative control strategies needed to ensure proper first line of defense oversight for over 350K Synchrony Partner Locations, commercial relationships and related point of sale processes. Leading and delivering specific projects and programs surrounding CIT changes. The role requires strong program management coupled with cross functional influencing and team building skills. The role will drive activities across multiple functions, workstreams and teams toward the successful on-time completion of key initiatives and programs. The role will provide program leadership, oversight and governance and will work successfully across all levels of the organization including program teams, sponsors, steering committees, and executive/senior leaders.The successful candidate for this role is a strong people leader, able to think both strategically and tactically, influence in a matrixed environment, and embrace a culture of change and innovation. A proven leader with strong communication skills and prior experience with control testing, monitoring and reporting. This role will have a high level of visibility across and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Essential Responsibilities• Design and launch collaborative strategy inline with SYF Surveillance policy and standards to ensure we are meeting all requirements and anticipating changes in the regulatory landscape and building a multi-out year plan for successful execution of the CD & Sales Surveillance efforts• Ensure adherence with SYF surveillance standards and drive best practice sharing that leads to overall improvement of 1st line surveillance efficiency and effectiveness across the business• Drive wing to wing view on testing, coordination, tracking and reporting of key elements• Provide ongoing management and adherence to applicable policies and/or procedures• Ensure timely and effective execution of all required POS Surveillance testing and monitoring• Ensure timely and effective execution of all required POS Surveillance testing and monitoring• Direct the implementation and documentation of preventative and detective controls for commercial Point of Sale CTCs/CTQs as Legal Requirement Surveillance Leader• Partner with SYF client sales teams to ensure POS routines and procedures are conducted in accordance with business compliance and regulatory guidelines• Ensure compliance with newly developed Surveillance Standards related to Federal required consumer disclosures.• Partner with Sales, Compliance, Legal and other process stakeholders to design and implement new POS preventative and detective controls where business needs dictate• Maintain effective governance for Compliance Control Account usage by sales teams for POS testing and surveillance• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of client eco systems functional, risk and/or process management experience in the financial services industry or in lieu of a Bachelor Degree, a minimum of 11 years of functional, risk and/or process management experience in the financial services• 5+ years of experience to include:• Surveillance leadership and experience driving oversight based on CTC’s• Experience with analytical, organizational, and decision-making responsibilities• Understanding of business systems and processes• Cross functional team leadership experience• Experience working in Governance, Regulatory, Audit, or Risk ManagementDesired Characteristics• Masters Business Administration.• Prior CI/CD, Sales or Marketing experience• Has previously worked on organizational transformation• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, action oriented• Employs a collaborative skill set with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in a cross-functional, matrix organization, strong negotiating skills• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal• Proven ability to work independently yet as key member and contributor to a broader team• Strong interpersonal and persuasive communications skills applicable with all levels within the organization• Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team toward a common goal• Good understanding of credit, payments, and digital marketing in retail settings• Strong communicator and Clear thinker who can seek out and identify key data themes and distill the findings into actionable strategies, tactics, and solutions• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented• Grade/Level: 14Eligibility Requirements• You must be 18 years or older• You must have a high school diploma or equivalent• You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process• You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.• New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
