The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in managing our manufacturing workflow with our global contract manufacturing locations. You will own all aspects of the production, identifying and addressing challenges that affect the quality and integrity of our PCBA and Unit level assemblies. You will assist our contract manufacturers in the production, including prototype builds, and work hands-on with manufacturing assembly to define activities and required tooling for efficiency. Additionally, you will coordinate prototype build schedules, audit shop floor documentation, and create and manage KPIs and other metrics.You Are:You are a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for improving workflows and ensuring product quality. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are adept at managing cross-functional projects, driving them to successful completion.What You’ll Be Doing:• Evaluating and developing manufacturing methods by studying product requirements, researching assembly techniques, and collaborating with equipment vendors.• Enhancing manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, space requirements planning, and optimizing equipment layout.• Providing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.• Assisting R&D and contract manufacturers with prototype builds, including Surface Mount, wave, post-solder operations, chassis assembly, and quality control.• Preparing product and method reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.• Completing design and development projects by training and guiding assemblers.• Working hands-on with manufacturing assembly to define, monitor, and improve operational activities and outputs.• Reviewing defects to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.• Ensuring workmanship standards meet IPC 610 / J-STD criteria.• Auditing shop floor documentation, assembly instructions, and special instructions such as on-the-job training.• Introducing Lean Manufacturing concepts when applicable.• Exercising a high level of independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.The Impact You Will Have:• Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations, leading to higher productivity and reduced costs.• Improving product quality and reliability by identifying and addressing issues promptly.• Supporting the development of innovative products by collaborating closely with R&D and contract manufacturers.• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices, contributing to the overall reputation of Synopsys.• Providing valuable insights and reports that guide strategic decision-making within the organization.• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the manufacturing team.What You’ll Need:• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent discipline, or equivalent work experience.• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar role.• Experience in root cause analysis and strong mathematical skills, including statistics.• Proficiency in programming and operating CAD software tools.• Proven knowledge and experience in the PCBA manufacturing process.Who You Are:• Initiative-driven individual who can lead cross-organizational projects.• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.• Excellent project management abilities.• Able to advise senior management on specialized technical or business issues.• Experienced in serving as an organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs.• Capable of making quality decisions that align with Synopsys' operational goals.We Are:At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
