What you'll do:

As a member of Viasat's fast-paced production test engineering team, you will develop test solutions for a variety of Viasat products and services. Test solutions vary across RF/Microwave technologies, Power/Digital circuitry, Peripheral interfaces (GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi), and software/firmware/certificate configuration management. Projects will support both (1) lab-environment design verification/integration/characterization and (2) factory-environment production test. Assignments will also include the sustainment and continuous improvement of deployed test assets.

The day-to-day:

As a senior systems test engineer, you will:

Integrate with program teams that are developing, prototyping, and/or manufacturing Viasat's portfolio of commercial terminal products
Act as subject matter expert and lead for all test solutions of a given program or family of programs
Architect, develop and implement test solutions that are deployable, maintainable, and efficient
Develop test station software, automation, and processes
Implement test solutions that lend themselves to data analysis, AI, and ML initiatives
Lead team members in planning and execution for related test projects
Collaborate with HW/SW/DFx/NPI engineering, quality, reliability, management/leadership
Utilize problem solving mindset when planning for and adapting to project risks
Manage and provide status on schedules, resources, and budgets to management/leadership

What you'll need:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in test engineering
Proficiency with programming in one or more languages such as LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, C, C++, and/or C#
Experience in test development (test requirements, test plans, test cases/methodologies, test documentation).
Demonstrated ability in automation (test measurements, data analysis, CI/CD processes)
Demonstrated ability to review technical design documentation (specifications, schematics, wirelists)
US citizenship required

What will help you on the job:

Experience with RF systems test and integration
Foundation in RF testing and RF engineering principles, such as linearity, NF, Gain, VSWR, etc.
Proficiency with test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum/signal analyzers, signal generators, power meters, noise figure meters, environmental temp chamber/plate systems, envrionmental vibe systems, etc.
Experience interfacing with contract manufacturers and providing technical support to suppliers both on-site and remote
Experience integrating and troubleshooting HW/SW/Systems

Salary range: $128,350.00 - $208,150.00 / annually : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
