Director, Product Management - Operational Technology and Internet of Things Management

The Basics:

Tanium’s Product Management team is actively seeking a Director of Product Managment for Operational Technology and Internet of Things to join our passionate, driven and fast-paced team. In this role you will bring your in-depth knowledge of operational and industrial control systems to help modernize device management with a convergence of the best of both OT and IT management technologies, focusing both on operational management and security. You will own and maintain the product roadmap from ideation to launch in partnership with our engineering teams, directly enhancing Tanium’s ability to deliver cutting-edge security and operations solutions.  

A successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can bring their industry expertise to drive vision and development cross-functionally across all levels of the organization. Must have a successful track record of working with stakeholders on new products. 

This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What you’ll do: 

  • Develop and execute on Tanium’s Operational Technology and Internet of Things strategy and roadmap. 
  • Own the delivery of product within the space, from ideation to launch, in partnership with engineering teams. 
  • Identify new market and partnership opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers across the organization to define the strategic short- and long-term technical roadmap of products and identify new opportunities. 
  • Document customer use cases, product requirements, and business justifications for new feature development. 
  • Partner with internal teams on development of appropriate materials to ensure successful enablement and training on new features and updates. 
  • Support product marketing initiatives, partner relationships, and other opportunities to accelerate the adoption of your products and to build Tanium’s brand. 
  • Work closely with the business and technical teams to find solutions to daily challenges. 
  • Leverage innovation and trends in the marketplace to develop strategic solutions. 
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement. 

We’re looking for someone with 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in working with Operational Technology (OT) in an industrial automation or industrial control system environment 
  • Experience working with industrial automation systems, devices (such as Programmable Logic Devices) and protocols (such as EthernetIP and Profinet). 
  • 5-8 years of product supporting a SaaS solution or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability to discover opportunities and then define and deliver products. 
  • 5+ years of product management or equivalent experience in OT or IT  
  • 3+ years of experience with Informational Technology (IT) experience preferred. 
  • Strong familiarity and experience partnering with the vendors and suppliers of OT control and automation devices. 
  • Familiarity with the OT cybersecurity market and vendors. 
  • Strong track record of working with business stakeholders to drive definition and alignment, strong communication and influencing skills, project management skills, and strong time management skills.

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 - $405,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
