About Pyramid: Merchandising is a Portfolio within Target tech  building systems and products that are core to our enterprise retail operations. We deal with and power solutions over Pricing, Promotions, Item, Supplier, Owned Brand, Merch Planning, Space Presentation & Transitions.

About team: The Competitive Intelligence team is responsible for gathering and delivering competitor data to support both tactical and strategic decision-making at Target. The team has in-house capabilities for data collection, along with the ability to integrate external data, creating a cohesive view of the broader retail landscape. Our ability to collect data across thousands of locations for millions of products each day—and to deliver an accurate and timely representation of what a shopper would see—is critical to powering multiple systems, including pricing, shipping promise, product setup, and assortment planning.

About SEM: The Sr. Engineering Manager (SEM) is responsible for a managing a team of full stack engineers that is building highly innovative and cutting edge solutions. This role is accountable for leading a team, developing code, deploying and managing in production. Most importantly, the SEM, while working with the Product owners co-owns the product vison, building the product roadmap and delivering systems and capabilities that build into a great guest experience. You will be called upon to be the technical representative for your team during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning. Success in this role will require strong and innovative approaches to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication (written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, accountability and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail. About you:

·       Four-year degree or equivalent experience

·       12+ years of experience in software development and team management

·       Expertise in Java and related programming languages

·       Experience evaluating new technologies and participating in decision-making, considering factors such as viability within Target’s technical environment, compliance requirements, approved tech status, maintainability, and cost of ownership

·       Proven ability to deliver high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure solutions with broad impact

·       Experience leading functional design and architecture discussions, with an understanding of process flows and system diagrams to support design decisions
