Tax Analyst

As a Tax Analyst for MGX/Manitowoc Cranes you will be part of the indirect tax team assisting with supporting state/local sales and use tax audits, processing and maintaining customer vendor resale and exemption certificates, resolving customer and vendor tax issues, performing taxability research, maintaining the tax system and supporting property tax compliance.

Reporting to the Transactional Tax Manager, this position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

• Customer exemption certificate management in Vertex O Series.
• Research and provide guidance for the correct application of tax.
• Assist with monthly sales and use tax compliance
• Work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to support inquiries related to sales and use taxes
• Assist with process and technology improvements within the tax department to streamline compliance and reporting.
• Support property tax compliance process

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, with a minimum of 1 year experience as a tax analyst preferred.
• Working knowledge of sales tax compliance software (Vertex a plus).
• Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (e-Emphasys a plus).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment are required.
• Must have problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously are essential.
