Technical Project Manager

CAIS is building the first truly open marketplace for alternative investments, where financial advisors and asset managers can engage and transact directly on a massive scale. CAIS provides financial advisors with a broad selection of alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real estate, digital assets, and structured notes, allowing them to capitalize on opportunities and/or withstand ever-changing markets. Additionally, CAIS provides an industry leading learning system, CAIS IQ, that helps advisors learn faster, remember longer, and improve client outcomes.

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to help us achieve strategic objectives at CAIS. This role will report to the Head of Business Management for Technology, and is responsible for planning and managing projects that span across multiple lines of business through the full cycle of the product roadmap. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who drives cross-functional team alignment by setting and clarifying budgets, timelines, and goals, and by overseeing resource allocation, reporting, and project rollout. This candidate is a thoughtful planner who understands interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs. They possess a keen eye for identifying risks, are passionate about keeping projects on track, and have a track record of coming up with creative solutions that optimize workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee comprehensive project management, from initial planning to release and maintenance
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including budgeting, negotiations, resources, risks, and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensure projects effectively merge stakeholder demands with larger firm objectives and maintain alignment with industry best practices; manage stakeholder expectations as required
  • Communicate cross-functionally and work with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to estimate release schedules and track progress
  • Identify baseline KPIs and share detailed reports on measurable items to gauge impact on firm performance and growth
  • Prioritize tasks and provide task management strategies to relevant team members
  • Provide leadership team with status reports regarding project deliverables, milestones, actions and dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Support business case analysis for new projects and initiatives (financial, competitive landscape, assumptions, risks)
  • Develop strategy for future projects and spearhead strategic planning
  • Analyze the economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost-benefit analysis and return-on-investment standards
  • Act as an internal quality control check and participate in quality issue resolution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree required, preferably in a quantitative/analytical field
  • 5+ years' relevant experience
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic planning, business development, and project management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and prioritize based on impact
  • Experience with requirements tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or an equivalent, and/or experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Scrum Master, Agile, and PMP certification preferred
  • Previous financial services experience preferred, along with any experience working in a 2-sided digital marketplace

CAIS' compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
