Our next Marketing Manager, Michigan will be responsible for building our retail brand, expanding our internal house brand awareness, and collaborating across departments to position TerrAscend as a market leader.


You will be challenged to work strategically and tactically to drive in store product promotions, brand awareness, and loyalty.

One minute you will be project-managing a new product activation and conducting in-store trainings with our retail associates.

The next minute rolling out a brand promotion and communications to consumers.

And the next minute partnering with our procurement and sales teams to analyze market trends and identify marketing opportunities.

Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse teams across the organization.


Where you'll be planted:

This is a Hybrid position with 2-3 days per week required in the field rotating mainly between our various retail locations. We are looking for individuals living in the Detroit Metro area given the onsite requirements.


To be blunt, this role will be about:
  • This role will work alongside the Marketing Director to develop and execute in-market initiatives to drive traffic to stores and build brand awareness and loyalty.
  • Being the face of marketing to the retail and wholesale teams and ensure open lines of communication and feedback are available, then act upon those requests on time.
  • Facilitating day-to-day MarCom execution of digital and in-store printed promotional and campaign assets throughout all consumer touchpoints on email, MMS, ecommerce, 3P Listing pages, TV screens to support promo activity, launches, and key initiatives.
  • Supporting, managing, and creating social channels and content calendars
  • Managing all store listings to ensure market traffic is being captured and correctly amplifying retail locations inclusive of 3rd Party Listings and Google My Business
  • Owning Visual Merchandising execution and quarterly refreshes in Owned Retail in partnership
  • Being the liaison for 3P vendors at owned retail (pop-ups, launches, etc.) in conjunction with cross-functional teams.
  • Executing local events and state/municipality requirements and generate reports to track activity and ROI.
  • Understanding and keeps up with cannabis marketing and advertising restrictions.
  • Learning the best way to grow and foster healthy relationships with retail teams.
  • Travelling to each retail location 1-2 times per quarter
  • Collaborating, sharing market learnings, and analyzing market trends with the Marketing Director to strategize campaigns, promotional activity, and develop regional plans.
  • Pulling and analyzing sales data to identify margins and ROI – Monthly Redemption Sales Reports.
  • Reviewing the progress and success of a campaign, adjusting or pitching new ideas as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2-4 years of Marketing experience is required.
  • Previous experience working in cannabis marketing is highly preferred; MSO experience is preferred.
  • Excellent time management. Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting data analytics to derive insight and actions.
  • Strong work ethic and customer service mentality with strong attention to detail and open communication.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, and easily learn new calendar software programs like Sprout.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% within Michigan with occasional weekend availability.
