TextNow is looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead our client platform engineering team, who is responsible for maintaining the base level of our mobile platforms. You will work with a talented team of iOS, Android, and web developers, guiding them in developing scalable, high-performance applications. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building innovative communication solutions.


What You'll Do:
  • Lead and mentor a team of iOS, Android, and web developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive technical excellence in core client platforms across our mobile apps, ensuring best practices in architecture, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and QA, to define and deliver high-quality features that enhance user experience.
  • Oversee the development lifecycle, from planning and design to execution, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Act as a thought leader in mobile engineering, staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on technical involvement to drive impactful product development.
  • Drive a culture of ownership and accountability, ensuring the team is aligned with business objectives and user needs.


Who You Are:
  • An experienced engineering manager with 5+ years of leadership experience managing iOS and Android. As a nice to have web developers as well.
  • Strong technical background with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in mobile development (iOS, Android, web, or some combination).
  • Proficient in Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Java, with a deep understanding of mobile architectures and best practices.
  • Passionate about coaching and mentoring engineers, helping them grow their skills and careers.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment, making data-driven decisions, and delivering impactful solutions.
  • A strong communicator who can articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experienced in Agile methodologies, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
