Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement Specialist

As an Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement Specialist in our fulfillment center, you play a vital role in our Operations team. You will lead improvement projects, design solutions for long-term company success, and create ways to maximize customer satisfaction. This role will require a strong blend of analysis and real-world application of continuous improvement concepts and principles. You will report to the Strategic Operations department and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to make these initiatives come to life.


What You'll Do
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to design and implement Safety, Ergonomics, Quality, Capacity, and Operational Performance solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen projects, value stream mapping, GEMBA walks, 5S projects, and help train managers and operations teams on Lean Principles.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Conduct time studies, establish labor standards, and set performance goals for operational tasks and processes.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as standard operating procedures, process flows, and quality procedures. Audit processes for adherence.
  • Support the Strategic Operations team in various tasks, projects, and large scale improvements related to operational excellence.


Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, a related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and implementation, process optimization, and workflow design. APICS/ASCM Certification a plus
  • Creative problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, R).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English w/ Spanish a plus) to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio (or similar), SQL, and WMS software a plus

$90,000 - $115,000 a year
The Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement Specialist role will be located in our Jenkins Township, PA warehouse.

The base salary range for this position will be $90,000-$115,000. Compensation may vary based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and location. The Black Tux defines compensation plans using market data aligned with comparable companies at a similar stage and size as ours.

This position also qualifies for incentive-based compensation which may include a performance-based bonus and/or incentive stock options. The Black Tux also offers unlimited PTO on top of generous company holidays, including a winter break at the end of each year.
