Project Control Planner (Ports & Marine Terminal)

Location: Newark, New Jersey (travel to client site locations possible)

Hybrid – 3 days in the office

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Control Planner (Ports & Marine Terminal) to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage, administer and preserve the asset PM/Job plan and safety plan data for maintenance and the asset management processes. The planner will work with, plan and forecasts predictive, corrective, preventative work execution and support for maintenance.

Responsibilities:

· Perform project controls consisting of planning, scheduling, cost control, or other project management/control services, as required.

· Support the Client Departments’ asset management project delivery team’s improvement initiatives, provide project control and support services to forecast and plan predictive, corrective maintenance, contract work and vendor services.

· Analyze data from the integrated program/project control and IBM’s Maximo Work Order and reporting systems.

· Develop maintenance schedules and control lists in consultation with stakeholders and the Client Department’s asset management team.

· Update monthly schedules in MS Projects and IBM’s Maximo vs 7.6, 8.4 or 8.5.

· Recommend and implement modifications for the existing procedures and reporting systems that the asset management project team and maintenance use to oversee and control the projects, maintenance budgets and schedules.

· Prepare project control reports, maintenance rosters and presentations.

· Oversee the development and management of job plans, safety plans and frequencies.

· Work with Client Department’s maintenance to forecast and plan predictive, corrective, preventative maintenance, contract, and vendor services.

· Work with the facility maintenance team to schedule, prioritize, track, and report the status and completion of all work orders.

· Develop and maintain reports to measure and analyze the performance and effectiveness of maintenance practices and maintenance personnel.

· Ensure that necessary tools, parts, and equipment are available to Client Department personnel to perform maintenance work.

· Collaborate with facilities maintenance management to prioritize maintenance activities to effectively utilize and distribute manpower and resources across the Client Department

· Coordinate with facilities maintenance management to manage and execute equipment/resource downtime with minimal impact to business operations.

· Manage new, revised or deactivation of preventative maintenance work plans.

· Understand, manage, implement, and communicate all compliance and code changes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, engineering, construction management, accounting, economic or business administration discipline.

2. Working knowledge of maintenance management, infrastructure management, or asset management issues including, but not limited to, key performance measures for maintenance management, condition-based asset management strategies and asset lifecycle considerations.

3. Experience with an asset information framework.

4. Working knowledge and understanding of functional systems.

5. Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project

6. Experience with the management of the QA/QC of asset data in Maximo 7.6, 8.4 or 8.5.

7. An understanding of Client operations, maintenance, or construction contracts.

8. Leadership skills and experience managing a diverse workforce with varying work backgrounds, expertise, and levels.

9. Working knowledge of labor agreements for facility operations and maintenance staff.

10. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be persuasive with staff at all levels.

11. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make concise presentations to a variety of audiences.

12. Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

13. Demonstrated experience with any or all the following: Maximo, Assetworks, ESRI Arc GIS Server, Oracle, COGNOS, SAP, BIM, CAD, RFID, SNMP, GPS enabled handheld/tablet.

14. A valid driver's license is strongly preferred, as the position will require the candidate to travel independently to the various Client facilities.

15. An understand the client’s asset management plan and maintenance strategy and the relation to maintenance activities.

16. Knowledge of Client policies, the business planning process, and the Client budget process.
