Job DescriptionThis position comprehensively identifies documents and demonstrates the optimal user experience through design activities and deliverables that are aligned with business requirements and solution scope. It works with a variety of software development teams. This person possesses well-defined leadership abilities and provides leadership and strategy on discipline trends. This position crosses disciplines and business domains. The user experience designer is an active collaborator with business and functional analysts.This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.We value early, mid, and late-career candidates and encourage all applicants with the posted skills and abilities to apply.Responsibilities• Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge and application of design principles in the following additional competencies and expert in at least two: Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Prototype Engineering• Plans and conducts assignments, often involving larger, more important projects, or more than one project• Evaluate design effectiveness and recommend changes in products• Operates independently with minimal supervision• Encourages a culture of user-centered design and knowledge sharing• Understands and practices UX competencies• Leads communication visually through drawings, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, flow charts, etc.• Leads in user-testing and validation to ensure that the user experience of the end product meets the original intent and is of the highest possible qualityQualificationsRequired:• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent professional experienceWork Experience:• 4+ years relevant professional experience in UX/product design as a core competency• Cross-platform enterprise-level design experience• Experience designing native mobile applications (iOS/Android) highly advantageousDemonstrated Skills & Abilities:• Advanced knowledge of applicable technical software, systems, and functions• Experience with accessibility standards and designing for global audiences is highly advantageous• Excellent writing and presentation skills• Experience in UX disciplines in an agile team environmentAbout UsChurch employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work.
