The Role

The QA Tester helps to shape and deliver new technology implementations and improvements by developing and implementing a testing ‘best practice’ framework within the technology function. You will design, write, execute and evaluate robust test plans for systems and processes developed by all areas of the technology team. Working closely with business stakeholders, techology business analysts and project managers, you will derive and execute unit, systems, integration, and performance test plans to ensure that agreed acceptance criteria are met. You will assist business units in developing user acceptance test plans and scripts and work closely with the different technology teams to identify test failures and log these accordingly. You will be managing multiple test scenarios across differing projects that require careful attention to detail, and management.

  • Instill a ‘testing best practice’ for technology across the business
  • Review and analyse system specifications
  • Review software and business requirements, preparing and documenting test scenarios accordingly
  • Review project acceptance criteria, to develop robust test scenarios
  • Work with development teams and BA’s to develop effective test strategies
  • Generate and execute test plans for individual components of a system as well as end to end system testing and integration testing
  • Execute tests using a combination of manual and automated test approaches
  • Evaluate test results and present findings to relevant parties
  • Log and document test phases and results, maintaining appropriate issue logs
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues, bugs
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure that adequate testing capacity is included within projects
  • Work closely with business analysts to develop acceptance criteria
  • Organise, facilitate and document meetings to plan test scenarios and test cases with relevant stakeholders
  • Assist business units in developing, documenting and writing test scripts for user acceptance testing. Develop a repeatable best practice that is easy to follow
  • Work collaboratively with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • 5+ years experience as a software tester working in complex technology environments
  • Experience of systems development and integration projects with budgets of £100k to >£1mln
  • Experience in project management and testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
  • Proven ability to translate information gathered into actionable insights
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders
  • Background in software testing working with application delivery and integrations
  • Experience of working closely with developers and project managers
  • Experience in Salesforce and SAP is essential
  • Desirable to have experience Azure, Nexudus
  • Experience of DevOps as a practice, with Azure DevOps desirable
  • Experience in end-to-end testing of integrated SaaS and PaaS products, with specific experience in Azure event and messaging infrastructure.
  • Experience in end-to-end testing of decoupled and loosely coupled systems, in particular with publisher/subscriber-based methodology.
